Agnes Nyalo Inspiring Others
Posted by Lori Kovach on January 23, 2013

Carl Burkybile, HHI's Director of Agriculture, held a three day survival gardening workshop in Tulia, Kenya in June of 2012. There were 75 farmers who attended, one of which was Agnes Nyalo.

Since attending the workshop, Agnes and her children have constructed and planted 26 raised planting beds! She has truly taken to heart the workshop instructions, "Use what you learn and teach someone else." She has now trained 27 people in the techniques Carl taught her. She says when people come to see what she has done, she shares with them how the Lord has worked in her life. After they see her garden she goes to their place and helps them prepare their first raised planting bed.

The garden the Nyalo family planted is not only feeding their family but also providing them the opportunity to earn an income. Read Carl's full story on Agnes and those she is inspiring.
