Mesley Choncora is the mother of four children. She and her family live in the Degara village of Ethiopia, which is an hour away from the closest water source. Mesley’s oldest children take turns making this walk two times a day to get enough water for their family. This water source, a natural spring, does not provide enough water year-round, making it hard to rely on.
Now, Mesley and her family are a five minute walk from the new clean water well! She shares, "It is a wonderful thing for our community. My children are so happy they can play more with their friends." When clean water is available, kids can spend more time doing things they should be doing instead of walking for water!
