82 Women Equipped for Lasting Change in Uganda

December 30, 2025

Through HHI’s Women of Hope program, nearly 100 women from the Ewuata community in Eruba, Vurra (Arua, Uganda) gathered for a Christian Business Women’s Conference, an event rooted in both faith and practical skills. This community has previously partnered with HHI through our Clean Water and Hunger to Harvest programs, and the conference built on that foundation of trust and transformation.

A total of 82 women attended the training, with strong turnout and active participation throughout the sessions. Women engaged openly, shared experiences, and encouraged one another as they learned how to apply godly principles to their businesses and daily lives.

One participant, Beatrice, a mother of five, shared how the training opened her eyes to new ways of living and working. Before coming to Christ, she sold alcohol and struggled for years without making a profit or saving money. Through the training, she realized the importance of love, integrity, and discipline in business. She is now committed to running her work in a godly way and plans to join a trustworthy savings group—encouraging other women to do the same.

Another participant, Clara, a mother of four and a businesswoman, spoke about the challenges she faced in her work. She learned the importance of prayer in business and improved customer care—areas she now believes will help transform her livelihood and family life. She urged fellow participants to take what they learned seriously and apply it both at home and in business.

When you support the Women of Hope program, you are helping women grow in faith, strengthen their businesses, and bring lasting change to their families and communities.
