Walk4Water is a four-mile walk in honor of those that have to walk long distances everyday to collect water.
Every day in developing countries, women and children walk an average of four miles to collect the water their family needs for the day.
Not only does this chore keep their children from attending school, the dirty water they bring home is deadly.
Currently, every 26 seconds a child dies from water-borne diseases, killing over 3,300 children each day. Healing Hands International believes that WATER IS LIFE, and so do I.
I had the opportunity to go to Malawi, Africa this September and saw and did many wonderful things! One thing that had a big impact on me was the water situation.
I saw firsthand women and children walking long distances for water and the water that they get is not always clean. I saw dirty water come out of a bad well (not one of HHI's!)and even saw many people getting water from dirty ponds!
The well that we are walking for will be a good well that gets repaired by Healing Hands International if it ever breaks and will go to the people in Milala, Malawi.
This is a great project I’ve been a part of for years and I invite you to join me in bringing LIFE through the gift of clean water to the people in Milala, Malawi.
