Summer Sewing
Posted by Zach Bissell on May 30, 2018

Earlier this month, we held two Dorcas workshops here at our Nashville office. We had a full house of determined women both days who sewed flutter sleeve and Barbie doll dresses for our MAGI boxes. We provided the women with heavier fabric to take home to sew book bags. We had such a great time together.

Mark your calendars. We will be hosting two more workshops on June 14 and 15 from 9:00am-2:00pm. This will be a great opportunity for any women who were not able to attend our workshops this month. We will be working on flutter sleeve and Barbie doll dresses and will also have examples of feminine hygiene kits, book bags and shorts.

The Dorcas ministry mainly supports our MAGI program by providing kids with clothing, dolls, book bags, marble bags, etc. The ministry also sews feminine hygiene kits and diapers to send to orphanages and hospitals. Each item crafted is sent either to Honduras, the Texas/Mexico border, Zambia, the Dominican Republic, or Romania.

Registration is $10 which includes lunch and any materials that are provided. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machines and kits.
