MAGI in Mexico and Texas
Posted by Ashley Reeves on December 19, 2014

Healing Hands International recently delivered  and distributed over 4000 MAGI boxes to the Texas/Mexico border in partnership with the 8th and Harrison and Pharr North Churches of Christ in the Rio Grande Valley area of South Texas.  The staff from Healing Hands International prepared two shipments of MAGI boxes and drove them in trucks from the Carrollton offices in Texas to the Iglesia de Cristo church in Alton, Texas to be prepared for delivery to the various churches of Christ in both Mexico and Texas.

Materials for these boxes were both collected and purchased from donations made to Healing Hands International specifically for the TX/MX relief efforts.  Along with the HHI staff that made the trip, we were blessed to have a team from Florence, Alabama join us in Alton to help with packing and distribution.  A special thank you goes out to Steve, A.J., Hanna and Tanner who were so instrumental in the distribution efforts (and comic relief).  Also, a special thank you to the team from Buckingham Road church of Christ who stayed with us all weekend in Carrollton to help pack the last truckload of MAGI-we could not have finished in time without your commitment to packing the boxes.

In partnership with Craig Cooper and members from the various Iglesia de Cristo churches in the Rio Grande Valley, we were able to distribute boxes to 27 locations in Mexico and 11 in Texas.  We know that we truly were able to make “A GODLY IMPACT” through this effort and many families were blessed and impacted as a result, to say nothing of the impact it had on us!

A personal note: thanks to Rob Sparks and the members from 8th and Harrison for their continued support for Healing Hands International and my HHI team mate, Sean Judge, who carried the burden of heavy lifting.  And finally, to all who donated both funds and materials to help us make this effort so successful.

Working alone, we can do nothing. Psalm 121:1-2.  Thank you God for blessing our work and thanks to all who partnered in this effort!
