What We Do

HHI's Education Program

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” -- Nelson Mandela

Education is power and Healing Hands believes in empowering the next generation with the skills and knowledge to transform their own lives and the culture around them. In 2012, we launched out into a brand new education ministry led by Dr. Bobbie Solley. Bobbie has been an educator for 32 years and has spent most of that time training fellow educators how to more effectively teach children living in poverty. Her unique background and her passion for third world education make her a perfect fit for this ministry.

Our Objectives and Goal

The objectives for this ministry are:

  1. To provide training and instruction for teachers living in developing nations where education opportunities are rare or non-existent
  2. To increase literacy by introducing more effective instructional methods
  3. To promote Bible-based learning

Education can serve to make a nation great or can serve to tear down what has been built. Our goal at HHI is provide educational training in developing countries for teachers to learn effective ways to teach literacy – reading and writing. Literacy education is vital to the health and well-being of a society. It is through literacy that children begin to think critically and learn to problem solve. It is through literacy that children are empowered to think for themselves and learn that their voice has power to make changes for the betterment of their lives.

Our ultimate goal at HHI is to educate teachers in basic principles of literacy in order to empower them to freely teach children. In providing educational training in the secular world, we have a unique opportunity to teach basic principles of Christ.
