We Need You!
We are looking for people who have a passion for children and who are interested in their education. Education in developing countries, particularly literacy education, is quite different from the U.S. Healing Hands International needs your help in training teachers to be more effective instructors to their students in order to impact a community for change. Effective literacy instruction teaches children to read independently in order to comprehend more fully. Once children can read for comprehension, think critically and independently, and make decisions on their own, change is inevitable. Please join us in making quality education a reality in developing countries.
Train A Teacher
We are currently working in Haiti, changing the lives of teachers and children. Quality professional development is essential for teachers in developing countries. This involves master teachers from the U.S. It costs approximately $1200 to send a teacher to Haiti. We solicit your donations to help send American teachers to train teachers in Haiti.

Adopt A Teacher
Supplies are hard to acquire in developing countries. Teacher’s pay in Haiti is less than $150 American dollars a month, so purchasing the necessary supplies for a classroom is next to impossible. For $180 or $15 a month for 12 months, you can adopt one teacher and equip them with the necessary supplies (scissors, chart paper, construction paper, dry erase markers, tape, etc.) for an entire year.
Student Learning Bags
Children in Haiti do not have the basic supplies they need to function effectively. We try to supply each child with a learning bag complete with a ruler, pencils, pens, erasers, scissors, construction paper, and composition notebooks. Your donation of these supplies will go a long way in helping students be prepared in school.
Teacher Learning Bags
As with children, teachers in Haiti do not have the basic supplies they need to conduct effective lessons. We supply each teacher with construction paper, teacher-size scissors, rulers, staplers with staples, paper clips, index cards, post-it notes, etc. In addition, each teacher receives a class set of crayons and markers for children to use.
Buy a Book
One of our biggest expenses is the purchase of trade books for teachers and children. In the schools where we work, there are no picture storybooks, novels or books dealing with current science and social studies topics. In order to prepare children to read and comprehend independently, they need books. The language spoken in Haiti is Haitian Creole and French; therefore, sending books written in English will not work. The books must be purchased. We need your help in purchasing these books. Monetary donations are accepted as well as books you may purchase and send to us. A list of books that we purchase can be found here! We buy these books from www.educavision.com.
