What We Do

The most basic of human needs is clean water. Healing Hands International seeks to meet this need in various ways. In the nations of Ethiopia and Haiti, we own well drilling rigs and have full-time crews working year-round to drill community wells. To date, we have drilled more than 200 wells in Ethiopia and more than 60 in Haiti. These wells combined are providing clean water to more than a million precious souls. Many of these wells were made possible because of individuals who were inspired to sponsor a well; people like Esheron McKay. Read Esheron's story.

In other nations like Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, India and Honduras we have used commercial drilling companies to provide community wells. Still, in some places it is not feasible or practical to drill a well, so we provide Sawyer water filtration systems that will filter enough water for a small community each day. Following the earthquake in Haiti, hundreds of these filters were distributed to prevent the spread of Cholera, and one special Kenyan woman named Celestine shared with us how her Sawyer filter dramatically changed her life.
