Youth minister, Johnny Markham, brought a group of about 20 teens and interns to the Healing Hands facility for a day of service. After a quick tour and introduction to HHI, most of the kids went straight to work in the survival garden harvesting peas, spreading compost and making mulch. They learned a lot about gardening from agricultural director, David Goolsby, and also had a great day of fellowship.
Some of the group also got to help in the volunteer center with stuffing envelopes and preparing information packets. These girls were excited to get a turn in the air conditioning.
We are always thankful to groups who are willing to sacrifice their time and energy to help make this ministry possible. For more information about College Hills church of Christ YouthReach, you can check them out at: http://www.collegehills.org/132519.ihtml.
