East Africa Suffers Food Crisis

This is a life threatening emergency with millions at risk due to severe malnutrition.  Deaths, especially among children, continue to be reported. More will die from severe malnutrition without immediate cash help to buy food.

 

Healing Hands, in partnership with Whites Ferry Road Relief Ministry, has committed $25,000 from our reserves for a total of $50,000 to start this critical relief effort. We immediately need our congregations to join us as we help our brothers and sisters in Christ feed their malnourished families.

 

John Ed Clark, – elder and missionary, Woodward Park church of Christ, Fresno, CA. wrote:

            “The center of this crisis is in the heartland of where our brethren live…  Phone calls from church leaders in the affected areas are received throughout the day and night pleading and begging for help…  They have sold their cattle to purchase food for their families.  They had to eat their seed grain that would have been used to plant crops for the next harvest…  There are no words to adequately describe the daily situation of families we have known, loved and worshipped with for more than 40 years.”

Jesus said “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.” We must show our love for Christ as we allow them to feed their families and keep their precious children from starvation. Please join us as we do His will in sending aid before it is too late.
