HHI is happy to announce that our President and founder, Dr. Randy Steger, was the recipient of David Lipscomb University’s second annual Mary Morris Award for service. Mary was a beloved professor at David Lipscomb University and was known for her commitment to service. Mary was a founder of Character Counts and also established the Center for Character Development at Lipscomb. Unfortunately, cancer took her from us at the very young of age 36, but this award was established last year to honor her memory and to continue to recognize those in this community that exemplify the same commitment to service and character that she did in her life.
Dr. Randy Steger founded Healing Hands International in 1991 through a class project at Lipscomb. It began as a challenge to his students to create a business plan for a humanitarian organization and since then it has grown into an organization that impacts hurting people in over 65 countries around the world. He has had more than 25 years of experience in the business world and has worked as a business professor at David Lipscomb University since 1983, touching thousands of students with his spirit of service.
Healing Hands staff and volunteers are especially thankful to Dr. Randy Steger for providing us the vehicle through which we are able to serve others.
