Franklin Family Raises $10,000

Lucy Britto, 7, of Franklin, TN heard about Healing Hands International's Walk 4 Water on her favorite radio station, The FISH 94 FM. She immediately decided she wanted to help, but was not able to be there the day of the walk. This did not stop Lucy from getting involved. She came up with a plan to create her own note cards and sell them to raise money.

When Lucy's mother, Molly, first contacted HHI she was very concerned that Lucy might not be able to raise enough to fund a well and would become discouraged. But Lucy was determined and so they began. They sold cards to everyone they could think of. Family, friends, their church, and they even set up shop at a local market in Franklin. Lucy came home every day from school for weeks and diligently worked on her pictures.

Within 6 weeks Molly contacted HHI to let us know that Lucy had not collected the $2,500 for one well as she had hoped. Instead, she had collected over $10,000 which is currently enough for about 4 wells!! We are so proud of Lucy and hope that everyone will be touched by her story as we have been.
