Bill Merry
serves as the Board Chairman and has been a member of the board since 2000. Bill is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelors degree in Marketing. He and his wife, Julia, have two children, Kensley and Connor. An active member of Crieve Hall church of Christ he is currently serving as a deacon and is on the missions committee. Bill has traveled to Cuba, Mexico and the Ivory Coast on mission and relief trips.
Burt Nowers
serves as the Board Treasurer and brings more than 30 years of experience as a CPA, a chief financial officer and as a Christian businessman. He graduated from Lipscomb University in 1979 and lives in Nashville with his wife Lisa. They have three children. Burt also serves as a board member of the Bible Institute of Zagreb and is a shepherd for the Brentwood Hills church of Christ.
Dr. Randy Steger
is a professor of business administration at Lipscomb University where he has been a member of the faculty since 1983. Dr. Steger has more than 30 years experience in the business world. As a former top executive in a corporation to a partner in a successful small business, he has made the classroom a real life experience for students. He currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of HHI and is on the board of directors for several other organizations. His family includes his wife Chris who is a medical doctor and his three children, Brandy (foster daughter), Daniel and Lydia.
Dave Sellers
has been a member of the Webb Chapel congregation of the church of Christ in Farmers Branch, Texas since 1965. He has served as an elder for the congregation since 1994. David has been married to his wife Jan for more than 50 years and they have two sons and three grandchildren. David retired as vice president of the medical department of a private life and health insurance company.
Dr. Margaret Perry
is Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Tennessee at Martin. Dr. Perry served as chancellor for almost 12 years, having served for more than 30 years in university work in Tennessee. Her PhD is from UTK in Nutrition and Food Science. Interest in international work has been a priority in her education work throughout her career and interest in international missions programs and programs related to women have occupied much of her volunteer work since retirement. She has a special interest in nutrition and health especially as it relates to women and children. She serves on several philanthropic and volunteer organization boards throughout Tennessee. She and her husband, Dr. Randy Perry, attend Brentwood Hills church of Christ where he serves as an elder.
Keith C. Cuthrell, Jr.
has been a lawyer with Willcox & Savage P.C. in Norfolk, Virginia since graduating from Harvard Law School in 1979. He also owns and manages Bay Housing, LLC, Wolf Trap Farm, Riverside Mill and several other business ventures. Keith and his wife, Deborah, have three married adult children and four grandchildren so far. Keith has served as an elder of Norfolk church of Christ for more than fifteen years and is President of Idlewild Christian Endeavors, Inc., a Christian camp serving Eastern Virginia.
Dr. Gary Jerkins
completed his undergraduate work at David Lipscomb University followed by medical school at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. After an internship at Methodist Hospital, Dr. Jerkins completed his residency at the University of Tennessee Department of Ophthalmology in Memphis. He has been practicing Ophthalmology in Nashville since 1982. Dr. Jerkins married his high school sweetheart and they are the proud parents of three grown children. He enjoys traveling to Ukraine where he founded SeaStarKids, a non-profit organization that offers Ukrainian children the opportunity to attend a Christian summer camp and participate in monthly activities. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ukrainian Education Center.
Greg Hardeman
serves as secretary of Healing Hands. He completed his undergraduate work at Lipscomb University followed by Law School at Vanderbilt University. He has been practicing law in Nashville for more than 30 years. He serves on the board of several other non-profits in Tennesee including Lipscomb University and AGAPE. He and his wife, Linda, attend the Harpeth Hills church of Christ where he is involved with the adult education program.
Dr. Sidney Allen, DVM
founded Rapha International which merged with Healing Hands in 2010. He not only serves as a member of the Board of Directors, he also spends many hours volunteering in our Fort Worth warehouse. Dr. Allen's career has given him a variety of experiences including working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. He also spent 14 years as an agriculture missionary to the Republic of South Korea before ending his career working specifically in the field of veterinary medicine. He and his wife, Jenetta, have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
Bill Lawler
graduated from the University of Alabama and began a career that spanned more than 40 years as an engineer and executive at Boeing Company and the Northrop Grumman Corporation. He continues to provide consulting services to aerospace companies in retirement. Bill is a member of the Mayfair church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama where he is a Bible teacher and deeply involved in missions to Cuba and South Africa as well as Internet Bible studies development. Bill and his wife, Marie, have been married for more than 45 years and have three children and five grandchildren.
Don Yelton
In 1976 Don founded the AMEN (American Military Evangelizing Nations) Ministry, connecting young Christians to local churches while deployed worldwide in our military. In 1981, he founded and continues to work in a part-time capacity for the WFR Relief Ministry in West Monroe, LA. Don retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2000 after 26 years of service and has completed a BS in Bible from American Christian. Don has served as a deacon and for the past five years has served as an elder in Hendersonville, NC. Currently, he and his wife Harriet work with the AMEN Ministry at their church.
